Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint is a sheer lightweight tinted moisturiser, that lasts all day and provides excellent coverage. I find this product perfect for my skin in particular, which is oily combination (oily T-zone and some dry areas). However, although it has a matte formula, I would still recommend this to all skin types because I know of people who have dry skin and they swear by this product because it acts as a tinted moisturiser and feels moisturising on the skin.
The reason I came across this product was because I watched multiple youtube videos and read other people's blogs to find recommendations for a long lasting product for oily combo skin. I was on the hunt for a base product that would last all day, giving a natural finish but was also a matte finish (due to my skin type being oily). When I first tried this product I must say I wasn't overly impressed with the feel of it on the skin as I felt it kind of tugged my face a bit: maybe this was because I used my fingers to apply the product instead of a beauty sponge or foundation brush (i am still yet to try applying this way). Anyways, the product itself for me is amazing and looks really natural once blended out.
Even though this product isn't cheap retailing at around £30 on Asos, Feelunique and House of Fraser, I will be honest and say I will definitely be re-purchasing once I have run out (and when I have saved up for it) because I do feel it lasts all day and makes my skin look flawless but with a very natural approach as its only a skin tint; not a full coverage foundation (but it certainly acts like one). It also has an SPF 30 so it's perfect for the summer time and on busy days when you're going to be out and about.
I found that the shade St Moritz, described as a medium 1 is perfect for my subtly tanned skin tone. After coming home from Menorca (Spain) for 2 weeks I gained more of a tan and the product was a little too light to match the rest of my body, but this was easily fixed with a darker bronzer (I used the Nars Casino bronzer for this). I've also heard that The Body Shop, do darkening and lightening drops to adjust the the shade of your foundation to match your skin tone; can't wait to get hold of some as it will make life a lot easier when you've bought the wrong shade foundation.
